Video: Thomas Tuchel on PSG’s Performance Against Rennes and the Number of Injuries His Squad Is Dealing With

Paris Saint-Germain, despite a large number of absentees on their squad, including those of Neymar and Mbappé, achieved an eighth consecutive victory in Ligue 1.

The capital club picked up a 3-0 win over Stade Rennais with the help of a two-goal and one assist performance from Ángel Di María and Moise Kean, who chipped in the third goal for PSG.

However, Les Parisiens did have to deal with more injuries to their lineup as both Thilo Kehrer, and Idrissa Gueye left the match with injuries.

PSG manager Thomas Tuchel spoke with Canal Plus to discuss his squad’s performance.

We have a better result than Wednesday,” Tuchel said. “We had a big big game, a big fight. The mentality was exceptional. We are missing players. We have injuries. What the players have done today is amazing. I’ve never seen this since being here in the frame of mind and the way. I am very happy, very proud.”

Then Tuchel went into detail about the capital club’s injuries.

“We already had a lot of absentees before the match (8). We still have two. Of course, this has something to do with the lack of preparation. We play with Thilo, who was not ready to play. It’s the same with Paredes. We’re taking a risk with Herrera too. That’s not normal,” Tuchel said.

“For me, you disrespect the players who are there. You disrespect the performance of the team by asking five questions about Marquinhos, two about Florenzi, none about the game, no question about the opponent. It shows that you have no respect for what the team does, and that is very sad for me.”
