RB Leipzig pulled off the victory over Paris Saint-Germain on matchday three of the UEFA Champions League group stage. However, the capital club was playing without one of their significant forwards in Neymar Jr.
As Les Parisiens prepare for a must-win fixture against RB Leipzig, PSG captain Marquinhos spoke with the media and discussed the importance of having Neymar out on the pitch.
“Neymar is important to us, a leader in our team. In the field, he takes his responsibilities; he works for the team in his own way. Everyone has their functions in a team, and in the field, everyone knows what to do. We have workers in the team and others who will guide to put it back in the best conditions. He makes the effort, he’s one of the guys who sacrifice himself the most for the team, and I think the team will always sacrifice themselves for him.”
It will be interesting to see if a healthy Neymar and Kylian Mbappé is enough for PSG to pull a must-win match, or else they could kiss their ticket to the knockout stages goodbye.
