Video: ‘It’s Definitely Not a Bad Time’ – RB Leipzig Manager on Facing PSG Without Neymar and Mbappé

RB Leipzig will get their opportunity at a semifinal rematch when they face PSG as part of matchday three of the UEFA Champions League group stage.

The two clubs that have had ups and downs during the competition have picked up a victory over İstanbul Başakşehir while losing to Manchester United FC.

A day before this meeting, Julian Nagelsmann spoke to the media to discuss the matchup against PSG.

“It’s definitely not a bad time. We also have many injuries. From the point of view of PSG, it’s not bad either. I think it’s normal for all teams, in Paris, and at home. Christopher knows many PSG players,” Nagelsmann said.

“The group has done more damage than us in the Champions League. They are quality players despite the absences. They would be stronger with them, but we would also be stronger with the players we miss.”

Then the German manager gave his opinion on Neymar Jr., a player he thinks highly of but won’t face in this fixture due to the 28-year-old being out with an injury.

“Neymar is a player with extraordinary qualities when the opponent defends too low. Sometimes we can always defend him, but there are situations where he manages to stop the opponent, as soon as the opponent is no longer in his rhythm,” Nagelsmann said.

“Neymar is super fast. That is why he also suffers many faults. You should take it as a compliment because the defenders don’t know what to do anymore. They have so many other amazing players.”
