Video: Gabriel Jesus on Brazil Playing Without Neymar Against Venezuela

Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar Jr. received a call up to play for the Brazil National Team despite nursing an injury. Furthermore, the 28-year-old is already missing the first of two 2020 FIFA World Cup Qualifying matches.

Manchester City FC striker and Seleção striker discussed the absence of Neymar for Brazil’s matchup against Venezuela. Although having the PSG forward would make life easier for the Brazilian squad, Jesus made it known when speaking to the media that they will have to find ways to win without Neymar.

“We all know the quality of Neymar and his importance in club and in selection throughout his career. We all know what he brings to our team every day. We miss his quality and personality, but we all have some responsibility here because not everything can rest on him alone. All the players present here are thanks to their quality and we must win, even if it is easier with Neymar,” Jesus said.

“We have already proven that we can win without him. When he’s available, of course, we want him to play. He scores goals, he delivers assists and he has a lot of quality. He’s not here because of his injury, but like I said, we’ve already evolved without him. Everyone must do their best to make the team win.”
