Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Angel Di Maria is set to be among the players on the team who will hit free agency next year. Di Maria and the rest of the impending free agents on the team will be able to sign with any side on a free transfer deal, as interested clubs will not have to post a transfer fee in order to acquire any of them. But PSG does not want to lose Di Maria as a free transfer as the club is currently in talks with the midfielder about a possible new contract extension deal, according to a report from the Italian-based outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.
The report mentions that talks between Di Maria and PSG are currently ongoing. The discussions between the two sides are revolving around a possible two-year contract extension deal. The report also speculates that further developments on this matter may come in the coming weeks.
Di Maria has already publicly talked about his desire to stay on with PSG. So, it will fall on PSG in regard to whether the two sides will come to terms on a new deal. If they are unable to reach an agreement, the Argentine will then very likely have plenty of suitors interested in signing him on a free transfer deal.
