Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Angel Di Maria will be among one of several players on the team that is slated to become a free agent next year. Di Maria and the rest of the pending free agents on the team will have the opportunity to sign with any club on a free transfer deal, which means that interested clubs will not have to post a transfer fee in order to acquire the talent. But PSG does not want to lose Di Maria on a free transfer as the club is currently in talks for a new contract extension deal with the midfielder, according to a report from the Italian-based outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.
The report mentions that talks between the two sides are currently ongoing. The discussions between Di Maria and PSG are revolving around a possible two-year contract extension deal. The report also speculates that further developments may come in the coming weeks, which could signal that a deal may be on the horizon.
Di Maria has already publicly talked about his desire to stay on with PSG. So, it will fall on PSG in regards to whether the two sides will come to terms on a new deal. If they are unable to reach an agreement, the Argentine will very likely have plenty of suitors interested in signing him on a free transfer deal.
