When it comes to Neymar Jr.’s contract extension status, there are conflicting reports surrounding the matter as Le Parisien reports that the 28-year-old would like to remain with Paris Saint-Germain but is in no rush to make a deal.
Then there’s ESPN (via Canal Supporters), who reports that the Brazil international is in advance talks about signing a five-year contract extension with the capital club. In addition to a new deal, the report states the Neymar will retain his annual salary of €32-million.
A source close to ESPN states that both Les Parisiens and Neymar’s camp are optimistic that both sides can agree on a deal. One of the hurdles that stand in the way of a contract is over the PSG project’s future and where it’s headed, considering if he re-signs, Neymar will spend the rest of his prime years of a footballer in Paris.
Nonetheless, the relationship between PSG and Neymar has strengthened, and with not a lot of over clubs being able to afford the forward’s demands, he likely remains in Paris.
