Report: Mbappe Unlikely to Feature in PSG’s Upcoming Fixture Against Rennes

One of the main storylines for Paris Saint-Germain this season has been injuries. It seems as if almost every first-team player on the team has missed in-game action due to injuries or even from the coronavirus. Now, the attention of the club has turned to Kylian Mbappe. For the moment, he is now not expected to play in the team’s upcoming Ligue 1 fixture against Stade Rennais due to his hamstring complications, according to a report from RMC Sport.

PSG ruled Mbappe out from its UEFA Champions League away group stage fixture against RB Leipzig due to muscle discomfort from his right hamstring. PSG surely needed Mbappe in the contest as the team wound up recording a mere two total shots on target.

For now, PSG is taking Mbappe’s injury status on a day-by-day approach. PSG currently does not anticipate Mbappe being fully fit for the contest against Rennes. However, if he is able to make a rapid improvement with his hamstring complications over the next couple of days, manager Thomas Tuchel could possibly take a conservative route and provide the forward with playing time off the bench. However, this route is currently not viewed as a viable option for the forward.
