Report: Kimpembe Not Expected to Play for France Against Finland

Paris Saint-Germain defender Presnel Kimpembe has arrived to meet up with the French national team ahead of its key fixtures this month. However, Kimpembe is now not expected to play in France’s international friendly against Finland on Wednesday, according to a report from Le Parisien.

Kimpembe missed PSG’s recent home league fixture against Stade Rennais due to a foot injury. He suffered the injury during the team’s UEFA Champions League group stage fixture against RB Leipzig last week.

Even with Kimpembe’s injury, French national team manager Didier Deschamps decided to call up the defender for its international fixtures this month. While he missed the team’s collective training session on Monday, the hope for the French national team is that Kimpembe will be fit for its duo of UEFA Nations League fixtures against Portugal and Sweden. If Kimpembe is not able to go for both fixtures, he is likely to be held out of the contests in order to not worsen his current injury.
