Neymar and Mbappe Nominated for The Best FIFA Men’s Player Award

Paris Saint-Germain forwards Neymar and Kylian Mbappe are among multiple players who have been nominated for the 2020 The Best FIFA Men’s Player Award, the organization announced on Wednesday.

Neymar and Mbappe have led PSG over the past year in all competitions. From goals in cup finals to leading PSG to its first-ever Champions League final, the two are surely among the top attacking duos in the game today. However, all signs point to FC Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandowski to claim the award. He led Bayern to a domestic treble last season and has scored the most goals in the Bundesliga over the past year.

Keylor Navas was also nominated for a prestigious The Best FIFA award. He is among six goalkeepers up for the 2020 The Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper Award. But as with both Neymar and Mbappe, Navas is unlikely to win the award as Bayern’s Manuel Neuer is the likely favorite to win the honor following his strong play for the German side over the past year.

The finalists for both awards will be revealed in a couple of weeks while the winners will then be announced at the annual The Best FIFA Football Awards 2020 ceremony on Dec. 17.

While these three PSG talents are not favorites to win a FIFA award this year, it will be interesting to see where each player finishes in their respective category.
