Paris Saint-Germain’s Keylor Navas has been performing like one of the elite goalkeepers in all of Europe this season. A year after beginning his PSG stint with a potent debut campaign, the Costa Rican goalkeeper is currently playing at a higher level than last season.
For one, Navas currently stands at six league clean sheets recorded in seven games this season. The six clean sheets for him ties him with Bordeaux goalkeeper Benoit Costil for the most in Ligue 1 play this season.
While Navas is arguably playing behind the best array of defensive players in the league, he has had to pull through for his side multiple times in clutch situations. Navas has recorded 10 saves from inside the box, which is an impressive figure considering the fact that PSG regularly dominates possession on a game-by-game basis. And overall, Navas has allowed just one goal over his seven league games this season.
While Kylian Mbappe is the current top player in Ligue 1 this season, Navas does deserve credit for being one of the most consistent players in the league.
