Argentina national team manager Lionel Scaloni has called up Paris Saint-Germain talents Angel Di Maria and Leandro Paredes for the upcoming key 2022 World Cup qualifying fixtures this month, the association announced on Friday.
For Di Maria, he had been essentially on his heels calling for Scaloni to provide him with another opportunity to feature with the national team. Just recently, Di Maria called out Scaloni for omitting him from last month’s Argentina squad list. Di Maria has not played in a fixture for Argentina since the 2019 Copa America, where he finished off the tournament being an option off the bench.
On the other hand, Paredes has been among the regulars for the Argentina national team as of late. He has earned call-ups from Scaloni since his standout run over last year’s Copa America tournament.
Argentina will take on both Paraguay and Peru this month in pivotal 2022 World Cup qualifying fixtures. Scaloni’s side will be aiming to begin the qualifying round with two more key wins.
