Paris Saint-Germain triumphed significantly over Nîmes Olympique 4-0, and capital club manager Thomas Tuchel spoke with Télefoot to discuss the win and various other matters that led to the victory.
The German manager spoke about how he liked the squad’s effort as players returned from the FIFA international break. Furthermore, Tuchel discussed how Kylian Mbappé wanted to play in this match against Nîmes rather than taking the night off as Neymar Jr. did after traveling to Paris from South America.
“We were focused, we played well with good efforts. It was necessary because it’s always difficult to play here. It’s a physical team, which plays with its emotions. The team played very well. From the start, we played forward, we made a good effort in the pressing. We scored four goals. This is a good thing. Mbappé? Kylian absolutely wanted to play, he told me he felt very good,” Tuchel said.
“So we decided to do as in Nice so that he has more freedom. And like that, we can close behind him a little more easily. It was the choice because we wanted a sentry in front of the defenders because we expected a lot of long balls from the opposing team. And Mbappé’s acceleration is important for us, as we have seen.”
