Paris Saint-Germain has had a slow transfer window with right-back Alessandro Florenzi being the only significant addition to the squad.
However, capital club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi began talking with Olympique Lyonnais owner Jean-Michel Aulas over midfielder Houssem Aouar. After PSG’s 6-1 win over Angers SCO, sporting director Leonardo discussed the tracking of the 22-year-old with the media.
If anyone had high hopes in Les Parisiens swooping in and landing Aouar, Leonardo put some cold water on that idea.
“This may not be the right time. It is not a question of transfer window, but of form,” Leonardo said. “To stay in this club, you have to be happy, with the desire to suffer for the club, the spirit of sacrifice, even if you are going through a complicated time. If we can sign players, fine. Otherwise, let’s go. This is the spirit we are looking for.”
