Manchester United defeated Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 to kick off matchday one of the UEFA Champions League group stage.

The Red Devils opened up the scoring with a penalty-kick from Bruno Fernandes. Anthony Martial would put the ball in his own net to help PSG draw even. However, Marcus Rashford would score and received the eventual game-winning goal to give the Premier League club the victory.

After walking away with three points, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær spoke with the media after their win, with Canal Supporters relaying his words.

“The performance has been good. We deserve to win. It was a better performance than in 2019,” Solskjær said. “This shows that we have made progress. To beat PSG, there is no secret. You have to play well and defend well. PSG remain a fantastic team, one of the best in Europe, with superb players against whom a very solid defense had to be put up.”
