Paris Saint-Germain manager Thomas Tuchel took to the microphone to speak with Téléfoot, where his words were relayed by Culture PSG after the capital club’s 4-0 victory over Dijon FCO.
During his postgame interview, the German took the opportunity to speak publicly about one situation that caused plenty of supporters to question his tactics, playing Marquinhos in the midfield.
In his postgame interview, Tuchel defended his decision to place Marquinhos in midfield and Danilo Pereira at center-back, which wasn’t only a tactical decision, according to the PSG manager.
“It’s very easy. Marquinhos is the heart and soul of our team and for that, he will play in the middle. Because in the middle, he has the best volume, the best capacity of our team. He helps everyone on the pitch when he’s playing in the middle.”
“He was decisive for us in this position in the Champions League in Portugal, he scored decisive goals. He was decisive in defense. He’s the guy with the volume and the ability to do the best counter-pressing, who organizes everything. He is there, he is the heart and soul of our team and for that, he has to play in the middle. It’s my decision.”
