While Edinson Cavani’s time with Paris Saint-Germain is well over, he still holds dear to the club’s supporters. PSG fans backed Cavani through the highs and lows while he was with the club. Even though Cavani left the club on questionable terms, he still has much admiration for the supporters that will continue to remember his lasting legacy with the club.
Cavani posted a final goodbye message to PSG fans on his official Instagram profile. In the message, the Uruguayan forward wrote: “Hello Paris, hello to everyone. There you go, I’m here to thank you. A little time has passed since I left but sometimes it’s good to let a little time pass. It makes things quieter and the head quieter. And less risk to create a more negative situation and atmosphere. I preferred to talk a little while after because my PSG teammates continued to compete. It wasn’t good to talk at the time and that’s why I let the time pass, too.
“I am here to thank everyone. To the supporters who gave me their hearts, slowly over time. It’s a love that has grown over time but it’s something that is very important to me. That’s why it makes me happy and that all the moments — good and bad — that we spent together will stay here.
“Thank you to all the people who worked at PSG and who did things with affection for me. This is something important. It will stay in my head and in my heart but life will go on. Football is like that. Thanks again. I was very proud to defend you during the seven years with you.”
PSG fans surely appreciated watching Cavani’s world-class play over the years.
