A few weeks ago, a feud began to brew between Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo and manager Thomas Tuchel.
Before the summer transfer window closed, the German manager took to the media as he tried to apply some pressure on Leonardo to improve the squad. Adding that if no recruits were to come in, that the capital club could not ask Tuchel to try and reach another UEFA Champions League final.
Leonardo did fire back by saying that the club didn’t appreciate the comments made by Tuchel. Nonetheless, Leonardo did make additions to improve the squad on the final days before the transfer window closing.
Despite adding Rafinha, Moise Kean, Danilo Pereira, and Alessandro Florenzi this summer, there’s still tension between Tuchel and Leonardo, according to L‘Équipe.
Expect for both men to try and be civil throughout the 2020-21 season, but with Tuchel’s contract set to expire, Leonardo will likely want to hire his manager that he will be on the same page.
