‘There Are Always a Lot of Rumors’ – Real Madrid Manager Downplays the Club’s Interest in Kylian Mbappé

After this season, Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappé will have one-year left on his contract. The capital club will have a decision on their hands; either they extend him or cash in by selling their 21-year-old superstar to Real Madrid or the highest bidder.

Despite the summer transfer window closing, it won’t stop the constant rumors of Mbappé heading to Spain to join Los BlancosDiario AS reports that Mbappé’s market value of €180-million and that at one point reached €200-million, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, the market value of the PSG forward fell.

Although the Spanish press is monitoring the weekly market value of Mbappé, Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane is not engaging with this rumor as he decided to downplay the story in a recent press conference with the media with Goal relaying his words.

“No, this has always happened. There are always a lot of rumors, and I am not just talking about Mbappe,” Zidane said. “It will not affect our group, but as you know, it is over because the market has closed, and we have this group to fight until the end.”

It will be interesting to see what PSG sporting director Leonardo decides to do on this matter. Nonetheless, expect more stories like these from the Spanish media throughout the season.
