Paris Saint-Germain made one acquisition to its youth system this week as it signed left-back Jordan Monteiro, according to a report from Goal France.
Monteiro spent last season with Metz’s youth system. According to the report, he recently became a free agent after terminating his contract with the Ligue 1 side. He had the ability to sign with any club, although it is unclear whether he had interest from a multitude of sides.
Still, his free agent stint did not last very long, as PSG signed him on a two-year deal.
The 16-year-old prospect should soon be slated to receive playing time with PSG’s U17 side, where opportunities for him to feature for the team should be of plenty.
The left-back position was not necessarily seen as a high need for the club’s youth system, so this signing is simply more of a low-risk, high-reward move.
