Report: PSG Remains Interested in Signing David Alaba on a Free Transfer Deal in 2021

For much of the recent summer transfer window, Paris Saint-Germain was heavily linked with Bayern Munich defender David Alaba. However, no deal between PSG and Bayern for the talent ever came close to being completed. But PSG still has its sights on Alaba and is planning to make a push to sign the talent on a free transfer deal next year, according to a report from the German-based outlet Sport Bild (via RMC Sport).

At the moment, Alaba is set to become a free agent next year. Bayern and Alaba have had talks on a possible contract extension deal, but the two sides are not close to reaching an agreement. Until both sides came to a resolution on this matter, other clubs will continue to be linked with Alaba for a potential free transfer deal.

PSG will not be the only club interested in signing away Alaba from Bayern. According to a report from the Italian-based outlet SportMediaSet, Serie A side Juventus also has intrigue in pushing for an Alaba deal.

Alaba would be a significant signing for PSG, as the club could be in great use of a versatile defender like him. But with other top European clubs set to join in the bidding for the talent, PSG may have to overpay next year to secure his services.
