Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar is projected to not feature for PSG until after next month’s international break due to an adductor injury, according to a report from RMC Sport.
Neymar suffered the injury during the first half of PSG’s UEFA Champions League group stage win against Istanbul Basaksehir. Neymar took on a hard foul and immediately had to retreat to the sidelines in order to get checked out by PSG’s medical staff. The Brazilian made an attempt to return to the pitch but had to call for manager Thomas Tuchel to make a substitution due to the injury.
At the moment, Neymar will miss PSG’s next three games, which include two league games and next week’s Champions League group stage fixture against RB Leipzig. It is unclear at the moment whether the Brazilian national team will still plan to call up Neymar for next month’s international fixtures. PSG would likely prefer that Neymar instead attempt to fully recover from his adductor injury before featuring in a fixture.
The injury news for PSG is, fortunately, a sigh of relief as it is not deemed to be a serious one. At the least, Neymar will have time to rest as he had certainly been fatigue from the team’s current heavy run of fixtures.
