Paris Saint-Germain held its first scheduled training session on Thursday after returning from the recent international break. A multitude of players missed the training session, and as Le Parisien reports, Neymar was among those who held out on Thursday.
Neymar just returned to PSG after spending the international break with the Brazilian national team. The superstar forward helped lead Brazil to a pair of wins in 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualification action against CONMEBOL sides Bolivia and Peru. He had just recently featured for Brazil two days ago in the contest against Peru.
While Neymar did not train on Thursday, he was reportedly present at the Camp des Loges. The Brazilian’s status for PSG’s away league fixture against Nimes Olympique tomorrow is unclear at the moment. Manager Thomas Tuchel could elect to rest Neymar and proceed to give him a week off, which would then see him make his return to the team in its UEFA Champions League group stage fixture against Manchester United next week.
While Neymar did not train on Thursday, the likes of Leandro Paredes, Alessandro Florenzi, Presnel Kimpembe and Moise Kean all did take part in Tuchel’s scheduled session. Each of the four players had just returned from featuring with their respective national teams over the break. All of these players are slated to feature against Nimes. For Kean, he may very well be in line to make his first appearance for the club since joining from Everton on a season-long loan deal over the recent summer transfer window.
