Report: Marquinhos Status Uncertain for Match Against Manchester United

One of the aspects that every club supporter hates about the FIFA international break is the risk of injury that their star players face when playing for their respective national teams.

Well, it seems for Paris Saint-Germain, those concerns are now a reality as Marquinhos picked up a thigh injury in Brazil’s 4-2 win over Peru. The injury already puts the capital club captain out for the matchup against Nîmes Olympique.

However, L’Équipe reports that Marquinhos could also be out for the matchup against Manchester United FC next week due to his thigh injury. The absence of the 26-year-old could be massive, considering that Thilo Kehrer is dealing with Adductor problems and has missed the last four matches.

If Marquinhos were to miss the match, this could leave Presnel Kimpembe with Abdou Diallo as his central defender partner. Diallo is coming off a herniated disc injury, so it could be interesting to see how he handles playing in a UEFA Champions League match after only four appearances since returning from his injury.
