Official Lineup: Mbappe Set to Lead PSG’s Attack in Champions League Fixture Against Basaksehir

Paris Saint-Germain will look to pick up all three points in its UEFA Champions League group stage fixture against Istanbul Basaksehir. PSG is still dealing with several injuries, but manager Thomas Tuchel seeks to pick up a win with this formidable starting 11.

Keylor Navas is taking his usual spot as PSG’s starting goalkeeper. The Costa Rican goalkeeper will aim for his sixth clean sheet in all competitions this season.

Tuchel received several players back from injury just in time for this contest, including right-back Thilo Kehrer. Still, Tuchel is rolling with a familiar backline, as Presnel Kimpembe and Alessandro Florenzi each are earning another Champions League start for the club this season.

As Tuchel mentioned during his pre-match press conference, Marquinhos will make a return to the midfield. The Brazilian midfielder will be paired alongside Ander Herrera to form PSG’s double-pivot setup in its 4-2-3-1 formation.

PSG’s attack will once again be led by the trio of Neymar, Kylian Mbappe, and Angel Di Maria. They each were not able to muster up multiple goal-scoring opportunities against Manchester United. Thus, the trio sure will look to orchestrate statement showings to put last week’s performance behind them.

PSG is deemed to be the overwhelming favorite to pick up all three points against Basaksehir. But if the club fails to clinch a convincing win over the Turkish side, the headlines will once again focus on Tuchel and his job security.
