Paris Saint-Germain is currently dealing with yet another injury crisis this season. Manager Thomas Tuchel will be heading into the team’s upcoming away league fixture against Nimes Olympique without 10 players due to injuries or coronavirus-related issues. The club has the depth to move forward with the fixture against Nimes, but Tuchel will have to shuffle the team’s starting 11 yet again.
Even with Tuchel’s side now currently dealing with an injury crisis, Nimes manager Jerome Arpinon still expects to face a strong PSG team. He recognizes that PSG has the depth to still be favorites in Ligue 1 contests even without a multitude of players available to play. He spoke further (via La Gazette de Montpellier) about this matter during a press conference over this week.
“It’s never a game like any other,” Arpinon said. “We play the finalist of the Champions League, it must be remembered. Yes, Paris will have some absentees but when Paris is reduced it is still a big team. When Nîmes is diminished, it is not the same.
“When you manage to grab a point or three points at PSG, you take this or these points from 16 other teams. If we draw, we’ll be happy. But we will not hesitate to win.”
Nimes currently stands at 13th in the Ligue 1 table. Nimes will surely be more than content to finish with a draw against the reigning Ligue 1 champions while a win could be a season-altering one for the club.
