Mitchel Bakker Exposed To Two Players and Manager on Netherlands U21 Squad Who Contracted Coronavirus

Last month, Paris Saint-Germain dealt with a coronavirus outbreak within their squad. A significant number of players tested positive for the virus. It resulted in the capital club getting off to a slow start as players were slowly making their way into the starting eleven.

Well, Les Parisiens could be dealing with a player who has come in contact with teammates and a coach that have contracted the virus. Mitchel Bakker received a call-up to play for the Netherlands National Team U21 squad.

Bakker has two teammates in Jordan, Teze Danilho Doekhi, test positive for the virus, and manager Erwin Van de Looi. The Dutch Football Association announced (via Culture PSG).

It will be interesting to see if PSG decides to isolate Bakker when he returns to Paris out of precaution to avoid any incubation period where the 20-year-old could test negative but still infect others on the squad before delivering a positive result.

As the reigning Ligue 1 champions prepare to face Manchester United FC in a few days, its best to play it safe to allow the entire squad to be healthy for the fixture until they know Bakker isn’t a carrier of the virus.
