There are not many players in world football today who are performing on a more impressive, consistent basis than Paris Saint-Germain’s Neymar. The forward’s performances as of late for both PSG and the Brazilian national team have made him stand out amongst the top players in world football today.
Tottenham forward Lucas Moura has been watching Neymar as of late and is thoroughly impressed with his continued improvements. Lucas is well familiar with Neymar from their time with the Brazilian national team, so he knows just how well the PSG forward can control matches all by himself. The former PSG forward talked to Le Parisien about Neymar’s form as of late.
“He progresses every season,” Lucas said. “He’s an impressive player. He started his career almost at the top but he continues to achieve great things. He’s a top player. He will definitely help him again this season, that he wants to win the Champions League with PSG.”
Lucas also touched on PSG’s recent decision to name Marquinhos the new team captain. As a former teammate of Marquinhos, Lucas is well confident that the Brazilian defender will meet expectations in his new leadership role with the club.
“He’s a great, great defender,” Lucas said. “He is also a great person, a leader in the dressing room, who commands respect. He deserves to be captain and I’m very happy for him.”
Marquinhos has a hefty responsibility considering that he is replacing Thiago Silva as the new team captain for the club. But so far, Marquinhos is performing at a high level while wearing the captain’s armband.
