Lens Manager Backs the Signing of PSG Forward Kalimuendo

It is all but inevitable that RC Lens will complete the signing of Paris Saint-Germain forward Arnaud Kalimuendo. Lens should officially announce the deal today, which will be for a season-long loan move. Other factors surrounding the move are unclear at the moment. But for now, Lens supporters know that they will soon be watching a promising youth prospect.

Kalimuendo has played just one game in Ligue 1 for PSG this season, which came during the season-opener against Lens. Among those closely watching the talent was Lens manager Franck Haise. He believes in the potential of the young forward and recognizes that he is the type of player who can come into the squad to immediately help out where needed. Haise provided comments about Kalimuendo that were relayed by the French-based publication La Voix du Nord (via Le10Sport).

“I know Arnaud Kalimuendo is a good player,” Haise said. “I’ve known him since last year because I had seen him play in Gambardella. I have followed him a bit since then.”

Haise went on to explain just why Kalimuendo may be a fit for the club.

“We saw it with the injury of Ignatius Ganago, we need to have four attackers,” Haise said. “If this player were to come and strengthen us, even if he is a youngster who still has things to prove, I would not be against.”

Starting minutes likely may not be a guarantee for Kalimuendo with Lens but at the least, he could get an opportunity to regularly play for the club.
