Paris Saint-Germain forward Mauro Icardi has made the club home ever since he arrived from Inter Milan last year.
It has become apparent both on and off the field that the Argentine is developing strong relationships with many of his PSG teammates. He simply continues to build formidable chemistry with his teammates on the pitch. For a player who joined PSG with baggage from his drama-filled tenure with Inter Milan, Icardi’s effortless integration with the team must be a significant sigh of relief for the club.
In a recent interview with beIN Sports (via RMC Sports), Icardi touched on the unity that he has had with his PSG teammates. The former Serie A striker did not single out one player in particular but rather spoke about why the team’s togetherness both on and off the field has impressed him.
“It’s spectacular to play with players of this level,” Icardi said. “They are important players in the world of football. It’s a pleasure and an honor to play with them.
“In the locker room, in as a person, I always said when I arrived in Paris that there was a very united group, an incredible, spectacular group. It is felt on the ground but also outside. We share moments together, dinners, Argentinian barbecues we prepare and that’s what gives you at the end of the week, when the match arrives, a unity in the team. You also have it off the field.”
There were a bulk of rumors and reports from Icardi’s time with Inter that he was not well-received as a good teammate within the locker room. But so far in his ongoing run at PSG, he continues to emerge as one of the favorites within the team.
