Paris Saint-Germain may be without midfielder Julian Draxler for a while. German national team manager Joachim Low confirmed during a press conference (via L’Equipe) that Draxler is dealing with a rather serious injury.
“We have little question marks,” Low said. “Julian Draxler has Achilles tendon problems.”
Draxler recently featured with the German national team during its UEFA Nations League group stage win against Ukraine. He played in 80 minutes of the contest before being subbed off for Chelsea FC forward Timo Werner.
Draxler is now slated to be a doubt for the upcoming contest between Germany and Switzerland. Germany needs the win as it currently stands in second place in Group 4.
The concern for PSG is whether Draxler will be ready to go for the team’s Ligue 1 away fixture against Nimes Olympique later this week. The German national team has not yet released specific details on Draxler’s injury, so PSG may have to wait a while to determine the midfielder’s status for the Nimes fixture.
