Sometimes the grass isn’t always greener on the other side, and it’s been the lesson that some of the Paris Saint-Germain youth products face when leaving for more playing time elsewhere.
Tanguy Kouassi was the youth product that every capital club supporter wanted to stick around and extend his contract. Les Parisiens were trying to do everything in their power to show the teenager that they would offer him a prominent role on the squad.
However, it wasn’t enough for Kouassi to commit long-term to PSG as the France international decided that it was a better decision to join FC Bayern Munich in Germany. Many question the decision to sign with a European heavyweight that has plenty of competition at central defense.
Nonetheless, Kouassi might have thought that he could crack the center-back position at Bayern. Well, it doesn’t seem to be the case.
After becoming the young player to start for PSG in a UEFA Champions League match, the German club has decided to leave off Kouassi from their roster for the group stages.
Time will tell if the teenager made the right choice.
