Former French Midfielder Backs Mbappe to Leave PSG and Sign With Real Madrid

As of late, there seems to be a split amongst former players and even former managers regarding the future of current Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe. Some would prefer that he stay on with PSG and attempt to build a formidable legacy with the club. Others would prefer that Mbappe leaves PSG for Real Madrid. Now, another former player is chiming in with his thoughts on what Mbappe should do regarding whether to stay with PSG or sign with Real Madrid.

Former French midfielder Robert Pires spoke to the Spanish-based outlet AS about his playing days and also on some current talents in the game today. Pires was asked about Mbappe and whether it may be time for the forward to leave PSG and head on over to Real Madrid. Pires was quite direct in his response.

“Of course,” Pires said. “I’m French, I like Paris Saint-Germain and I’d like him to stay in Ligue 1, but if he wants to keep growing as a player, he should sign for Real Madrid.”

Mbappe still has not yet signed a new contract extension deal with PSG, which is why there has been much speculation surrounding his future. For now, PSG sure hopes that it can come to terms on an agreement with Mbappe and push away Real Madrid from completing a blockbuster deal for the forward.
