Paris Saint-Germain has announced its official squad list for the pivotal UEFA Champions League group stage fixture against Istanbul Basaksehir. There are no notable surprises for the squad list but PSG did leave out midfielder Julian Draxler.
The German midfielder left PSG’s recent home league fixture against Dijon in the second half due to what was initially presumed as a possible hamstring injury. Draxler was seen heading straight to the locker room as a simple precaution.
The club did officially announce that Draxler is dealing with a slight hamstring injury and will not feature for the club before the November international break. Thus, Draxler will now not only miss the team’s fixture against Basaksehir but is now slated to be ruled out against Nantes, RB Leipzig and Rennes. With this new injury for the midfielder, it is now very unlikely that German manager Joachim Low will call him up for the team’s UEFA Nations League fixtures next month.
For now, Draxler will be rehabbing his hamstring injury in order to be fully fit and ready to go for next month’s key PSG fixtures.
