‘We Weren’t Able to Take Our Chances’ — Kimpembe Reflects on PSG’s Le Classique Loss

Paris Saint-Germain’s Le Classique loss to Olympique de Marseille certainly stings for the club considering how the fixture unfolded. PSG had chances to capitalize but was not able to hit on any of its goal-scoring opportunities. In the end, Marseille secured the win on a Florian Thauvin first-half goal.

PSG defender Presnel Kimpembe was not content with how the fixture transpired. He was certainly not pleased to see the team waste multiple valuable goal-scoring opportunities. In speaking to PSG TV, Kimpembe gave his thoughts on the team’s underwhelming performance against Marseille.

“Its difficult to take,” Kimpembe said. “On the whole, we had a good match, we weren’t able to take our chances and its a painful 0-1 defeat.

“There isn’t much to say, it was difficult not to score and we will need to face up to it.”

PSG has not been able to muster up a goal in its previous three games dating back to last month’s UEFA Champions League final fixture. The club will look to change the narrative on its scoring woes in its upcoming league fixture against Metz.
