As many already know, Paris Saint-Germain opened up their 2020-21 Ligue 1 season against RC Lens without seven players to their squad as that group all contracted the coronavirus.
Nonetheless, even without those seven players, Marco Verratti stated on the microphone with Canal Plus that the squad gave it their all. The 27-year-old added that isn’t a fan of the scheduling for this match against Lens.
Finally, Verratti stated that the squad will need a better effort against Olympique de Marseille on Sunday in the latest installment of Le Classique.
“I think there are a lot of factors. We gave everything we could give. Today, we gave the maximum we could. We only have one week of training. All the friends returned to the locker room, tired. We gave what we could. I think it’s weird to schedule a game like that. Already, make a calendar by putting the first day at the same time as the final of the Champions League. It was only Ligue 1 that did that,” Verratti said.
“Like I said before, we gave everything. Now we have to rest because in three days we are playing again. More will have to be done. We have to show more to win against Marseille because we know that this match is important for the supporters.”
