Video: Thomas Tuchel on the Contributions That Kylian Mbappé Against Nice

Paris Saint-Germain will be welcoming back Kylian Mbappé into the squad as he will travel with the team to the south of France for their match against OGC Nice.

However, the 21-year-old is coming off contracting the coronavirus, and some athletes need some time to shake off the lingering effects it can leave. In his press conference, manager Thomas Tuchel discussed what type of contribution the France international will bring in his first appearance of the 2020-21 Ligue 1 season.

“The answer is easy. He brings everything to the game: speed and the hunger to score. But after a major injury and a positive Covid-19 test, we must also protect the player. We don’t expect too much of him. He plays tomorrow is for him to win the confidence yet,” Tuchel said.

“I hope he can bring his quality to our game to attack the last row with Icardi. I don’t expect him to be decisive on his own. It is also a difficult phase for him where he must readjust to the rhythm and regain confidence in his physical capacity. We have to give him confidence and be patient with him. You can’t expect too much from him if he plays tomorrow.”
