Le Classique is the marquee match for French football, which sees Paris Saint-Germain take on Olympique de Marseille. For any that it’s interested in following Ligue 1, this is the match that they’ll watch to peak their interest as they see France’s two biggest clubs go head-to-head.

However, the latest installment of the rivalry comes early this season. For PSG manager Thomas Tuchel, it’s a match that should occur much later in the season and questions the league’s scheduling as he discussed in his press conference

“It’s a great match in France, I’m very surprised that a match in a league like that is scheduled for the 3rd day,” Tuchel said. “I don’t understand that. It must be in October or November with the rhythm and the maximum capacity of the teams. Everyone wants to win with the best level.”
