After the UEFA Champions League final, Paris Saint-Germain had a couple of weeks off to relax and regroup before kicking off their 2020-21 Ligue 1 season. Players took advantage of this time off and went on vacation with their significant others and loved ones.

The Spanish island of Ibiza was a popular destination for some of the players on the squad. However, it’s there were the five players contracted the coronavirus. As a result, they’ll miss the opening match against RC Lens and potentially Le Classique against Olympique de Marseille.

In his press conference, manager Thomas Tuchel provided an update on the status of the players.

“They feel good, but from there to training… I have doubts for Sunday, maybe they can be there on Friday or Saturday but we’ll see. You have to be responsible and careful with them,” Tuchel said.
