One of Paris Saint-Germain’s needs on the transfer market is acquiring a backup striker to Mauro Icardi, a role occupied by Eric Choupo-Moting.
The 31-year-old’s contract expired last month, and although there were talks about a possible extension, Choupo-Moting’s demands of a two-year contract were something that the capital club wasn’t willing to meet.
As a result, Les Parisiens will be looking elsewhere to find a backup for Icardi. During his press conference, manager Thomas Tuchel talked about the matter and where the club moves on from Choupo-Moting.
“It is our guy who was important for us in the group. He played his role perfectly, now it’s up to us to find another solution,” Tuchel said.
