Video: Sarabia Doesn’t Use Players Missing From Squad as an Excuse for Loss to Lens

A depleted Paris Saint-Germain squad fell 1-0 to RC Lens as the capital club kicked-off their 2020-21 Ligue 1 season. With seven players out due to contracting coronavirus, manager Thomas Tuchel had a squad mixed with first-team starters and youth products.

Despite taking a squad that’s not at full strength to the Stade Bollaert-Delelis, PSG winger Pablo Sarabia didn’t make excuses for the loss. That although players are missing, it shouldn’t translate to a defeat, explained the Spain international when he took the microphone to speak with Canal Plus

“We played a decent game but we couldn’t score and we were punished for an action,” Sarabia said. “We are a team and we must not talk about others. There are no excuses to have tonight and it is not because there were absent that PSG lost tonight.”
