Video: Leonardo Sounds off on the French Football Federation for Lack of Communication Over Mbappé’s Positive Coronavirus Result

With the news of Kylian Mbappé being the latest Paris Saint-Germain players to test positive for coronavirus, Leonardo, the club’s sporting director, quickly made an appearance on After Foot RMC to address the issue and sound off on the French Football Federation (FFF).

The 51-year-old didn’t appreciate how the FFF handled the situation by not informing him of the positive test. Leonardo states that he learned of Mbappé contracting the virus through the media with a tone of frustration in his comments.

“I find that unacceptable. This is unacceptable. We learned from the press that we had another player tested positive. He communicates, he sends the player home, and we, we do not know, takes offense to the Parisian sports director on the air. No one from the Federation contacted us. The president did not call our president. The doctor did not call our doctor. To get the information, we had to call Kylian,” Leonardo said.

“We will, of course, manage now because we are very keen on it. But it is amazing. Everyone lectures PSG, “PSG has mismanaged, nobody understands anything.” But when that happens, it’s still the PSG who manages, but nobody says anything. PSG is always the bad one in history. Everyone lectures PSG, but afterwards, PSG endures the situation and without knowing anything. It’s a lack of respect.”
