Former Paris Saint-Germain striker Nicolas Anelka was in northern France to launch an academy for young attackers. While at the Van Veegaete Stadium in Tourcoing, the 41-year-old discussed Kylian Mbappé winning the Ballon d’Or in the future.
When talking to RMC Sport, Anelka touched on who, in his opinion, is the prototypical striker for football in 2020. The France international didn’t hesitate in his answer and quickly went to PSG forward Kylian Mbappé.
“He’s very fast, very smart, very technical, he continued. He has the qualities to do great things. He has already proven it time and time again, and he shows it in every game,” Anelka said.
“Neymar is very strong too. There are the oldest who are known and recognized, like Messi and Ronaldo. But for me, in any case, it is Mbappé who is really the image of the prototype of the attacking with all the qualities required to be a future Golden Ball.”
As Anelka tries to help mold the next generation of footballers with his new academy, there’s no denying that he will have them seeing footage of Mbappé.
