Video: French Football Analyst Wants To Launch Petition for Mbappé To Stay With PSG

After this season, Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappé only has one-year left on his contract, which has resulted in Liverpool FC and Real Madrid CF targeting the 21-year-old if he doesn’t extend with the capital club.

As a result, Mbappé will need to decide on his future relatively soon, and for France Football’s Dave Appadoo, he hopes that the France international gets out of his comfort zone and leaves Paris.

However, beIN Sports analyst and former PSG striker Omar da Fonseca made an appearance on L’Équipe du Soirwhere he hopes it’s the other way around and hopes the young forward stays in Paris. The 60-year-old went on a rant over the inferiority complex that French football has and adds that there needs to be a petition for Mbappé to remain in France.

“When in France are we going to go beyond this aspect of putting ourselves in the condition of inferiority, here in France? I’m sick of the fact that in France, we keep saying: “We are not a country of sport.” When I hear that he has gone around, that you have to raise the cursor, but I say that you never go around,” da Fonseca said.

“Did Messi, Totti, Maldini go to the big clubs? But why are we already imagining that the L1 is nothing? We are there to conquer, not to flee. I say, on the contrary, we must make a petition, and we are all responsible so that Mbappé remains, Marseille must come back to the top, Ligue 1 has an audience, stadiums, broadcasters.”
