With the departures of Edinson Cavani and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, Paris Saint-Germain would like to add to their forward group. One player that the capital club is reportedly interested in Olympique Lyonnais’ Memphis Depay.

However, for Canal Football Club analyst Pierre Ménès, the pursuit of Depay from PSG’s perspective is a misguided one in an interview with OL Fan TV. The French football pundit states that to pay a significant price for the 26-year-old to place him on the bench doesn’t seem like a smart move, which many supporters of Les Parisiens would agree.

“Memphis Depay’s problem if he signs for PSG is simply that he does not play. And I think taking a player like Depay to put him on the bench, it’s set foot in a nest of endless bullshit,” Ménès said.

“It should also not be forgotten that he is coming back from a serious injury and is in poor physical shape, even though he has scored three goals against Dijon. We are far from the great Depay. Me, if I am in his place, I will stay in Lyon.”
