Paris Saint-Germain added some depth at right-back with AS Roma’s Alessandro Florenzi on a loan deal with an option to buy. However, before settling on the 29-year-old, the capital club looked at other options at right-back.
According to RMC Sport Journalist Loïc Tanzi, Les Parisiens were in on Arsenal FC’s Héctor Bellerín. PSG was hoping to draw up a loan deal with an option to buy. However, it didn’t satisfy the English club, so any interest in the 25-year-old right-back began to dwindle.
The Ligue 1 champions then looked at one of their other backup plans. Norwich City FC’s Max Aarons was the next name of their transfer target list at right-back.
Despite The Canaries going down to the EFL Championship, it didn’t mean they’d give away Aarons without receiving fair market value. Norwich City is asking for €20 million, and it’s a price that PSG didn’t want to pay for the 20-year-old.
