The one that got away is what title should be as Paris Saint-Germain shows an interest in their former youth product, Boubakary Soumaré, according to Téléfoot (via Canal Supporters). The 21-year-old left the capital club in 2017, searching for greener pastures where he landed at Lille OSC.

Now it seems Les Parisiens want Soumaré to come back home and help address their squad’s issue in the midfield.

Since leaving Paris, the midfielder has made 71 appearances for Les Dogues, with 30 coming in the defensive midfield position. Also, at 6′ 2″, Soumaré checks the box of the height requirement that the club sporting director, Leonardo, is looking to add.

When it comes to the cost, Transfermarkt sets the France international’s value around €24-million, which is an excellent price to pay, and Lille is a selling club.

However, it will be interesting to see if Soumaré has any interest in returning to his boyhood club.
