Paris Saint-Germain plans on postponing its scheduled training session that was set for Thursday, according to a report from L’Equipe.

The club was on par to make its long-awaited return to training tomorrow but recent news of multiple players testing positive for the coronavirus has now spurned its plans. Per a L’Equipe report, PSG talents Neymar, Leandro Paredes and Angel Di Maria tested positive for COVID-19 and all are now self-isolating for a week.

PSG’s plans to postpone tomorrow’s training session makes it all the more likely that its Ligue 1 opener next week against RC Lens could end up being postponed. While the club has had a lengthy break following its UEFA Champions League run, PSG still needs time to train and dust off the rust before resuming to feature in competitive action.

However, the club could very well not be granted a request to postpone next week’s fixture if it asks for one. According to Ligue de Football Professionnel board member Didier Quillot (via L’Equipe), Ligue 1 teams may not be able to postpone league fixtures if they have at least 20 squad players who have not tested positive for the coronavirus.

It remains to be seen on whether PSG will at the least attempt to postpone its fixture against Lens.
