Report: PSG Not Interested in Selling Paredes

Paris Saint-Germain has changed its stance on one midfield talent regarding his future. PSG is not interested in selling midfielder Leandro Paredes over the current summer transfer window, according to a report from L’Equipe (via Le10Sport).

The report alludes that PSG had at once an interest in selling Paredes. He had just signed with the club a year ago, but struggled early on to find a place within the team. But due to his UEFA Champions League performances from last season, PSG has changed its mind and is committed to keeping Paredes for at least another season.

Paredes played in four of the team’s five Champions League knockout stage fixtures last season, including in the final against FC Bayern Munich. After a period in which he was not considered by manager Thomas Tuchel to start for the club in key fixtures, Paredes earned the trust of the German manager and now the hope for him is for this to carry on over this season as well.

PSG needs to accumulate €60 million from transfer sales and for Paredes, he is not among the players who the board is seeking to offload to help reach this total.
