Report: PSG Is Targeting Chelsea Center-Back; Discussing Loan Deal

Paris Saint-Germain could potentially be going after two current Chelsea FC players if reports are accurate to address key weaknesses on their squad.

Everyone already knows that the capital club is in talks over acquiring Tiémoué Bakayoko to help strengthen their midfield. However, the other name that they’re discussing is Antonio Rüdiger, according to the Daily Mail

With Chelsea’s depth at center-back featuring Andreas Christensen, Kurt Zouma, Fikayo Tomori, and former PSG captain Thiago Silva, there’s plenty of competition for the two central defender positions. Furthermore, Kicker reports that Rüdiger doesn’t plan on spending most of the time on the bench with the UEFA Euro 2022 occurring next summer.

Along with Les Parisiens, FC Barcelona and AS Roma are showing interest in the 27-year-old. PSG is looking for a loan with an option to buy and are examining creative options that will see them land Rüdiger per RMC Sport.

Chelsea has their heart set on a permanent move for the central defender as they’d like to offset some of the significant purchases they made this summer.
