Paris Saint-Germain is in a hurry to acquire a midfielder for depth because the ongoing summer transfer window will close in less than a month. The club has been linked with numerous midfield talents over the past month, and now a new name has emerged.
PSG is showing interest in Valencia midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia, according to a report from Foot Mercato. With PSG unlikely to sign coveted midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio, the Ligue 1 side has turned its attention to Kondogbia as a possible transfer option.
PSG sees Kondogbia as a transfer option because of his previous ties in playing in Ligue 1 along with his experience in the UEFA Champions League competition.
Valencia is not keen on parting ways with the midfielder, especially since new manager Javi Garcia views the talent as part of his plans for this season. However, the report notes that the club could be forced to sell the talent since he has two years left on his contract, and it is currently dealing with financial hardships.
Kondogbia totaled 34 appearances in all competitions this past season. Muscle and hamstring injuries forced the talent to miss time. Still, he was able to orchestrate promising showings against teams such as Atletico Madrid and Chelsea.
